Charborough Park Open Garden 7th May

bluebells-429282_960_720Weymouth Town Charities are delighted to announce that they will be hosting an open garden day at Charborough Park on the A31 between Bere Regis and Sturminster Marshall (behind the long red brick wall) on 7 May 2016.

Weymouth Town Charities which operate the Sir Samuel Mico Trust and the Sir Henry Edwards Trust, are fundraising with a Highwood Garden open day at Charborough Park by kind permission of the Charborough Estate. It is an excellent opportunity to visit the Highwood Garden, designed by the late Admiral Drax and to visit the base of Charborough Tower, originally built in 1790 and rebuilt and increased in height in 1838. The Tower sits on the highest part of Highwood and at a height of over 100ft, can be seen across the estate. The woodland garden has fantastic displays of bluebells, rhododendrons and azaleas (subject to season).

The Gardens will be open from 2.30pm until 6.00pm (last admissions at 5.30pm). No dogs are permitted, other than guide dogs.

Entrance to the Gardens is £5.00 adults, £2.50 children/concessions. Teas, Coffees and cake etc will also be served. There is ample parking adjacent to the Highwood Garden and toilet facilities are available.rhododendron-1020848_960_720

Entrance to the Park is via the A31 at Almer Lodge gate just east of the Worlds End public house, the Blandford Lodge gate, or the Lion Lodge gate.
